Noodle

Gentle giant Noodle is our biggest resident at the shelter. Weighing in at 80 kilos, he is huge even for a Mastin.

Along with his siblings, Noodle was found as an abandoned new born and was hand-reared by his original family. When the family’s circumstances changed, they brought him to SOS in the hope that we would find him a home.

At first, Noodle hated shelter life and missed his family. Then poor Noodle suffered a gastric torsion and underwent life-saving surgery. Noodle initially moved into the volunteer’s house for his recovery period but loved it so much, he stayed. He is fully recovered and a big strong healthy boy, although he is prone to the occasional ear infection which we monitor closely.

Now that Noodle has settled so well into his life at the shelter, we have decided that SOS is the best home for him. This means he will live out the rest of his years as a resident dog where he gets the best of both worlds – a large sofa in the volunteer’s house and plenty of time spent in the garden with the other shelter dogs.
